How to manage your personal details, language, regional formats, theme, sign-in methods and notification channels, and which account pages live outside an organization.
Your profile holds the settings that belong to you rather than to an organization. Open it at /profile or through Account in the user menu at the bottom of the sidebar. The same profile applies in every organization you belong to.
The profile has four tabs: Info, Authentication, Communication and Connected apps.
Other pages outside an organization:
| Route | Purpose |
|---|---|
/organizations | Your organizations. See Organizations. |
/organizations/new | Create an organization. |
The user menu has Homepage, Docs, Changelog, Account and Log out. To switch between an organization, its customer portal and platform administration, use the organization switcher at the top of the sidebar.
Your timezone and formats decide how dates and times are shown to you across the app. They do not change what other users see.
| Section | Settings |
|---|---|
| Personal information | Photo, first name, last name and username. |
| Language | English, Nederlands or Deutsch. |
| Regional preferences | Timezone, week starts on Monday or Sunday, date format and time format (24-hour or 12-hour). |
| Appearance | System, Light or Dark theme. The theme is saved on this device only. |
| Celebrations | Show my birthday and Show my work anniversary. Only shown when you are an employee in People. |
Select your photo or its change button to upload a JPEG, PNG or WebP image under 5 MB. You can crop, rotate and zoom before saving.
A username has 3 to 30 characters: lowercase letters, numbers and underscores. Sign-up picks one from your first and last name (ada_lovelace), or from your email address, and adds a number when the name is taken or reserved (ada_lovelace1).
Date formats are dd/MM/yyyy, dd-MM-yyyy, dd.MM.yyyy, MM/dd/yyyy and yyyy-MM-dd.
The Sign-in methods table lists Email and Google:
The API keys section below it lists your personal API keys. Select Create API key, give it a name, choose Read only or Read and write, all your organizations or one, and when it expires. The key is shown once; copy it then. Rotate replaces a key with a new one (the old one keeps working for a day), and Revoke stops it at once. A key acts as you and never has more access than you, and a read-only key cannot change data even where you can. See Authentication for when the API accepts keys.
The Channels table turns notification delivery on or off for In-app, Email and Push. WhatsApp is marked Coming soon. See Notifications for what each channel delivers today.
The Connected apps tab lists the apps and AI clients you allowed to act on your behalf through OAuth, such as an MCP client, with the scopes you granted and the date you allowed them. Select Revoke to sign an app out and remove its access; it has to ask for consent again to reconnect. See MCP.
The Info tab has an Export your data section. Select Export data to collect your profile, memberships, comments, attachments you uploaded and other personal data as CSV files. When the export is ready, select Download to get a link per file. The files stay available for seven days.
When an organization you belong to is scheduled for deletion, the Info tab lists it with the date its data is deleted permanently. The owner or the person who requested the deletion can select Cancel deletion until that date, which enables the organization again. See Organizations.
At the bottom of the Info tab, select Delete account and type the confirmation text. Deleting your account removes your access to every organization and deletes your profile picture. While you are the owner of an organization, transfer its ownership or delete the organization first. See Organizations.
The assistant can read your contact details and update your profile, contact details and contact methods. Changes ask for approval based on their risk. See Chat.
| Method and path | Purpose |
|---|---|
GET /api/v1/users/me | Read the signed-in user. Also available as an MCP tool. |
PATCH /api/v1/users/me/active-organization | Set your preferred organization. |
See API, Authentication and MCP.
