How to see receivables and payables, read the ageing report and allocate or reverse payments.
Open items list every invoice, credit note and purchase bill that still has a balance. They answer two questions: what customers owe you, and what you owe suppliers. The page lives under Workspace, Finance, Open items.
| Route | Purpose |
|---|---|
/{orgSlug}/open-items | Lists open items, shows ageing per party and records or reverses payments. Needs invoice.readAll. |
The side switch at the top selects customers or suppliers. Each row shows the party, the document, the due date, the balance and how many days it is overdue.
Each item falls in one bucket: not due, 1 to 30 days, 31 to 60 days, 61 to 90 days or over 90 days. The ageing report sums the balances per party, currency and bucket. Totals are never mixed across currencies.
A member with invoice.recordPayment records a payment against a document. The payment has a reference, an amount, a date and a method. A payment can be allocated to several documents at once through the API, and it can take the early payment discount when the document offers one. Sending the same reference again adds nothing, so a repeated bank import does not double count.
Entering a payment reference in the reverse form removes every allocation of that payment. The documents it settled open again.
The same actions are available under /api/v1/organizations/{organizationId}/: open-items, open-item-ageing, payment-allocations and payment-allocations/reverse. Each operation lists its permission in the API reference.
